Waikowhai Intermediate Production!

Hey Bloggers! This week, all the Senior Syndicate went to Waikowhai Intermediate on a bus to watch their production named, 'This Is Me'. The production was really funny and was filled with dance, singing, monologues, and much more. The production was also made up except for some of the songs that were played. We left school at around 11:40 am and arrived 11:45. The production started at 12:00 pm and ended at 1:55 pm. There was an intermission in the middle of the production for everyone and also everyone sang This Is Me and the end. There were contemporary dancers, hip hop girls and boys,  Kapa Haka, 19th Harmony (Singing group), Pasifika mix dance group, choir and much more. Also, when we came back, we used the De Bono thinking hats to reflect on the show. Here is a photo of us watching the show and my De Bono thinking hats work.

The Waikowhai Intermediate production was amazing. Considering it was there first time performing in front of a big audience was impressive. The show was actually about showing your true self, not being someone that you aren't and not changing because of people. Feel free to leave a positive, helpful and thoughtful comment. Literacy Tumble For W8

Hey bloggers! This weeks we started a new Literacy Tumble. If you don't know what the literacy tumble is, its filled with reading and writing. But every 25 minutes, some people switch over to there writing or reading group. There are 'must dos', 'should dos', and 'could dos'. The 'must dos' that you had to do by Friday included, writing follow up, reading follow up and blog comment. One of the 'should dos' included creative writing.
 Here is my slide show!

This week, I completed all my 'must dos' but didn't finish the whole slideshow. I think next week when we start a new literacy tumble, I could finish most of it. Maybe you could create your own  literacy tumble for your friends. Please feel free to comment something positive, helpful and and thoughtful.

Literacy Tumble!

Hey Blogger!
Welcome back! For the past week, we have been doing a literacy tumble. If you don't know what a literacy tumble is, its when you get given activities to work on. There's the must do's that you have to do by Friday, the should do's and the could dos . I have finished all my musts, should's and nearly all my could's. Our must's included:
Our reading follow up
Blog comment
Our spelling / punctuation activity
Writing follow up
Here is my slideshow!

The must's were easy and only took around 2 days to finish. I think next time I could finish the whole slideshow. Maybe you could create your own literacy tumble. My favourite part was writing a blog comment because you can find out what other schools are doing and connect with them. Feel free to leave a positive, helpful and thought comment.

The NED Show!

Hey Bloggers!
I'm back! A few weeks ago we had a very fun show named The NED Show in our school hall! A man showed us lots of cool tricks with yo-yo's and kindly gave us some to sell to the students. The show was funny and helpful. NED Stands for: Never give up, Encourage others and Do your best. The show was not only about doing yo-yo tricks, but it was about never giving up on anything you do.
Here are some photos of  the day!

My favourite part of the show was when he did tricks like around the world with the yo-yo and when he made all of us laugh. Something that I learnt is how to use a yo-yo and to never give up. Maybe The NED Show will come to your school to perform. Feel free to leave a positive, helpful and thoughtful comment.

Interland DLO!

Hey bloggers! Today for cyber smart, we were told to make a DLO (Digital Learning Object) about  game, Interland. On our DLO, it had to say what it was about and you had to explain the stages in it. If you don't know what Interland is, its a game where it helps you become cyber smart on the internet. There are different stages named Mindful mountain, Reality river, Kind Kingdom, Tower of treasure.
 Here is my DLO!

The DLO was a little easy but took a pretty long time to make. My favourite part was playing the game for the screencastify. I have a question, have you guys played Interland, and if you have, what is your favourite stage? My favourite stage is Reality river, If you would like to play the game, here is the link . Feel free to leave a, positive, helpful, and thoughtful comment.

Cross Country!!!

Hey Bloggers! I'm back. A few weeks ago on Monday, it was our annual Cross Country day! All of us had a blast. All the year sixes had to lead small games while a year group is running. If you don't know what Cross Country day is, its when a year level group runs around the school. The people who place in the top 5 from year 4 onwards,  goes to Cross Country Zones. Here are some photos of the day!

This day was really fun but at the the same time tiring. Out of the year 6 girls, I came 3rd place so that means i'll be going to zones. I have a question to ask, does your school have a Cross Country day, and if your school does, what place did you come this year? Feel free to leave a positive, thoughtful and helpful comment.

Technology Rotation!

Hey bloggers! For the past few weeks on Fridays, the whole Te Waka Ako have been doing a rotation. Hauraki first started of by making geoboards with wood, hammers and nails. We had to measure around 2 centimetres between the nails. Then when you were finished, you could play with it with rubber bands. Then the next Friday, we did some kind of a technology challenge with Mr R. Basically you had to get in groups of 3. After, you got handed some items to create a structure that has to be strong and long enough to hold a marble from a table. Then with Mr Riceman, we made a circuit with a LED light and a battery. You had to make the longest circuit you could.
Here are some photos of the rotations!

Getting ready to build the Structure!
Using your perseverance
Measuring the geoboards
Final touch on the structure!

Abby's finished circuit!
The geoboards that are finishes

I think that these sessions were really helpful because everyone learnt something new. I learnt how to make a circuit with LED lights, a battery and some more items. All these sessions were really fun. Some of the sessions were frustrating and caused you to use your perseverance, especially with Mr Riceman. Maybe you could try making a geoboard or a circus. Feel free to leave a positive, helpful and thoughtful comment.
